Mediation is a dispute resolution process that helps people to take in other’s perspectives and concerns, explore common ground, and collaboratively craft solutions that satisfy all parties involved. A mediator guides the conversation, encouraging parties to explore their own interests and goals in a respectful way.
The Community Program provides mediation and conflict resolution services in Lane, Douglas, and Coos counties. CDR supports individuals, families, workplaces, and organizations in navigating disputes constructively.
Through guided dialogue and collaborative problem-solving, the Community Program helps people find sustainable solutions, rebuild relationships, and strengthen their communities with fairness, understanding, and respect.
Friendships can be fleeting, but family relationships often last a lifetime. No family is immune from conflict, and there are times in particular when conflict is inevitable. This is especially so at times of difficult transitions, such as losing a job, starting a new job, children becoming adolescents, aging parents becoming dependent on others for their care, the death of a loved one, or when a couple decides that it’s time to end the relationship. Stress levels are high, and we are not often at our best during these transitions, so problems and conflicts can multiply. We help families to change the communication dynamic so that they can be functional again.
